I am Chrysariel Raventhorn. I was granted immortality when I
accepted the duty of being one of the Planetary Guardians for Tiika.
(Pronounced Ty-ee-ka.) I am full Elven, have brown hair and hazel eyes, am
deceptively strong for my slender build, and stand 5'7". I was 753 on Sept
23rd, 2011. I am a natural Psionic with telepathy, an extraordinary
mind shield, and both defensive and offensive capability. I am inherently able
to teleport at will, and can carry an additional 300lbs besides my own
bodyweight with no effort. I can transport an additional 200lbs more, but at
great effort. Above that I use a specially crafted amulet.
I am a Countess through my father, who died in a boar
accident when I was nine years old. My mother followed him to the grave when
she contracted the plague a year later. She had left my two older brothers and
I to be raised by her sister after my father died, but everyone I knew except
my brothers and I died in the same plague. My elder brothers left me in dire
straits and enslaved. I will hate them until the end of time, but take satisfaction as they both met their demise at my hand long ago.
I am a Master Sage/Alchemist in specific of Dragon Breath
Weapons, and in general of Poisons, Toxins, and Venoms. I also make them and
their counter agents through my Alchemy abilities and sell them, of course. In
addition, I am also a Mage and teach Magic, Hexes, and Magic Theory at Celron’s
School of Magic when it suits me. I also own and operate a Publishing company,
and a bookstore and Library, the first of their kind, in Brilth. I have varied
interests and investments - including Shipping Lines, property, and backing for
talented craftsmen on several continents. Even my husband never knew how many
fingers in how many pies I had, or have – however you want to look at it.
I once was the highest paid and most successful assassin on
a planet named Sko-Sha who was only known by the name Stingray. I am
ambidextrous and uphold my abilities with practice. It is extremely rare when I
miss my target throwing a dagger, dart, star, or knife. My legitimate business
and cover was my Sagecraft. Everyone assumed Stingray was male. I of course
founded this belief and perpetuated it using disguises. This made
identification difficult, obviously the intent. He was rarely seen, but on the
occasions when it was necessary, he usually had a Human countenance. But then
he had also appeared to be Half Elven and even Drow to throw more mystery and
confusion into his Legend. This led him even further away from the truth of my
female High Elven self.
After a period of time, several hundred years - nearly
unheard of in my line of work, I was willing to take less and less risks
because with success, inevitable jealousy followed. There were many minor and a
few somewhat more talented Assassins and Footpads that wanted the infamy of
being known in History to have been the one that assassinated Stingray. Then,
of course, there were the many constables and other law-abiding good citizens
that also wanted my head in the noose. The offers of rewards from families and
estates didn’t help my efforts at anonymity, although it certainly increased my
price range. Indeed, there were so many that wanted my death that it became
obvious they truly didn’t care if it was even true, as long as it was believed.
It became laughable how many times my demise had been proclaimed. To my
knowledge, none of the families of the poor sots whose bodies were used as mine
were ever even apologized to when the hoaxes became apparent, although many
other necks swung from the nooses meant for me.
I had an opportunity arise and gambled on its success. I had
been retained for a temporary assignment as bodyguard, for Senek, who was
Prince at the time but has been King for many years now, since his mother Queen
Elchrys abdicated the High Elven Throne of Tiika to him. It was unknown that I
was Stingray, the legendary assassin from Sko-Sha, only that I was an expert
with blades and poisons. It didn’t hurt that I was also beautiful and could and
did pose as his girlfriend. The temporary assignment worked out well and turned
into a long term lucrative one and eventually friendship. We adventured for
several years with a group and traveled through the Gate from Tiika to Sko-Sha.
Senek was truly an admirable man and I got to know him very well. I liked and
respected him greatly. At the same time a Cleric in the group, named Bendax,
managed to get under my heavily armored skin and in spite of all my multitudes
of sharp spikes in the way, loved me. Under ever lessening protest and after
much denial I admitted I loved him, too.
During these years I did my job well and protected Senek
from many dangers. Then came the situation of an assassination plot from the
Red Hand Assassin Guild - ironically the same Guild I had founded myself two
centuries before and built into the successful entity it became. My own Guild
proved to be the greatest danger to myself and the man I loved and the future
King I had sworn loyalty to. I went to Senek finally and told him everything. I
gambled my life on his word. There was much machinations and involved planning
and cunning usage of many things, and then this time Stingray irrevocably truly
died. The Prince gained the infamy, renown, and respect he deserved. It also
stopped cold any more assassination attempts from the Red Hands. Oh, and by the
way, the family of the poor sot whose body I used still didn’t get any apology,
but this time by the Hand of the Gods was suddenly wealthy and wanted for
nothing.
After the demise of Stingray, we decided to follow Prince
Senek home to Tiika. Bendax and I married, and adopted a beautiful girl named
Chrysalis. She resembled me so much she should have been mine. I had gained a
castle given to me by Senek in recognition of my work for him and as part of my
terms, and we made Siberian Keep our home. Bendax developed the first TOG -
Temple of the Gods - taking up half the castle in honor of the major Deities
represented on Tiika. It has since proved quite successful and many others have
been built.
During our happy years there we raised four more children,
Dax, Chryselle, Senkar, and Chazariel. Bendax was Human, and died of old age a
happy man. I grieved for two decades and then Fate brought me together with the
great warrior, Achilles. The Book of Knowledge, The Ildatch, was in his
possession and was meant for me. He and I loved each other intensely, but we
were not meant to be together long. The Ildatch spoke to me that fateful day
and brought into being my worst fear. Though I railed and ranted that I knew at
the beginning that this most powerful Book of Knowledge would separate us for
its own ends, uncaring of our love for one another, the Ildatch proved its
unemotional and irrefutable conclusion.
It showed me the threads of Fate that had linked us from the Past, and how they
forged Achilles and I together. Our Fates were interwoven, and would continue
to be so through the centuries, but we would not fulfill our destinies together.
I would hold him back from what he was meant to do - the wars that he was
destined to lead that brought him glory and renown was the Fate of Man and yet
their bloody reign would eventually end in peace, which was what Achilles most
wanted. It was my destiny to study and learn from The Ildatch, and eventually
add knowledge to it.
Achilles is now married to a most exceptional woman named
Shanialia and they have two children. Shani and I have become very good
friends. I am now dating Marius, the God of Wolves, and could not be happier.
I'm not quite as heavily armored, and with fewer spikes, but
still the intelligent should beware!
